Las Vegas - Gonna take a look at the Red Sox with Rick Porcello over the Phillies and Drew Smyly. Not totally thrilled with Porcello's work this season. He has given up a ton of runs but has also won six of the last eight. The problem is Smiles. Not quite sure what Philly sees or saw with Smyly, so maybe Matt Klentak or someone from his office can call me. Or, if you're in Vegas, we can drop in for some glorious Thai food, my treat.

Las Vegas - MINUS FIVE HUNDRED!!! What??? Been in this space, making odds for over 30 years, and have never EVER seen a baseball line at -$500. When we do our homework for each series, we're always looking at all the matchups, and tomorrow, it's Houston's Justin Verlander against Detroit's Daniel Norris. So, not really surprised at the price. Verlander is only 15-4 with a 2.81 ERA and 228 Ks in just 169 innings. On the other side, Norris is pathetic at 3-10 with a fat 4.64 ERA.

Las Vegas - If you're looking for a tasty underdog, check out the White Sox with Ivan Nova over the Twins. Not quite sure what's going on with Nova, but his last five starts have been as good as anyone named Kershaw or Scherzer. Ivan has won four of the five and the Chicago wound up with a W in the game he had no decision. But the numbers man, the numbers. We're talking 38 innings of work with just 2 earned runs. OBVIOUSLY, Nova has found something, because that's a 0.49 ERA.

Las Vegas - STEAM BABY!!! Not sure what group, syndicate or wise guys the money is coming from, but it's a big FAT bundle. The Chargers opened up as a -3 point favorite over the Saints, and the line has moved FOUR points, with New Orleans now a -1 point fav.
