This picture makes me VERY, VERY, VERY HAPPY!!!

Las Vegas - Stanley Cup BABY!!! Playoff hockey BABY!!! Nothing like it. Gonna start out on Long Island where the Islanders are hosting the Penguins. Stunning reversal for the New Yorkers under the whistle of head coach Barry Trotz. Last season, they finished up 35-37-10 with only 80 points and didn't come close to sniffing the playoffs. Then Trotz left the Capitals for the Island after winning the Cup, and the Isles skated into the playoffs this season with a 48-27-7 record and 103 points. Quite the turnaround, EH! Not gonna pick a series winner because I'm rooting for my New Yorkers, however, will take a look at the over/under goal total which is listed at 5.5. And going under, WAY under. Why? These Isles are VERY stingy. Actually, they were the stingiest team in the entire NHL, allowing only 191 goals. No other team allowed less than 200. These kids played each other four times this season, but we were only interested in the games that took place in New York. On home ice, the Islanders beat the Pens 3-2 in the first matchup, yes, an Under, and then Pittsburgh picked up a W in the second matchup, winning 2-1, yes, another Under. The Islanders have played very conservative heading into the playoffs, going low in 11 of the last 14. And the Penguins have been stingy as well, going Under in 14 of the last 17. Come with me, bend under the Limbo Bar and rock the LOW side.

For your wagering pleasure, here are your spread stats of the day. Looking at the Pistons/Knicks matchup as Detroit fights for the 8th and final playoff spot in the East. The kids from Motown sure ain't playing like they wanna slip into the playoffs. They've dropped four in a row, straight up and against the spread, not including last night's game against Memphis. New York has been mostly, okay, totally a disaster this season, with the WORST record in the NBA (16-64). And the spread numbers have been awful as well, as the Knicks have covered only two of the last 10. The big picture says that the Pistons overall spread log sits at 40-37-3, 19-19-2 on the road and 21-14 as a favorite. The Knicks overall spread mark is 31-46-3, 14-24-2 at home and 27-40-3 as an underdog.
