College Football Week 3 Betting Preview

The top-ranked Alabama Crimson Tide will get their first ranked matchup of the season this week when they face the No. 19 Ole Miss Rebels on the road.

The odds on this one at online sportsbook Bovada list the Crimson Tide as an 11-point road favorite. Last week Alabama cruised past the Western Kentucky Hilltoppers 38-10 as a 27-point favorite. That was Alabama’s 14th straight win, during which they are 9-5 against the spread.

Ole Miss knocked off the Wofford Terriers 38-13 last time out, but didn’t come close to covering the 43-point spread. The Rebels have had Alabama’s number in their last two matchups with two straight wins as the underdog. However, Alabama is still 7-5 straight up and 5-5 ATS in their last 10 at Ole Miss and overall they’ve won seven in a row on the road with a 4-2-1 ATS mark.

The first Top 10 matchup arrives this weekend when the No. 2 Florida State Seminoles visit the No. 10 Louisville Cardinals.

Florida State took down the Charleston Southern Buccaneers 52-8 as a 59.5-point favorite last week, while Louisville hammered the Syracuse Orange 62-28 as 17-point chalk. With the win Florida State improved to 7-3 SU and ATS in their last 10 and Louisville is on a four-game winning streak both SU and ATS.

Last season at home the Seminoles were a 6.5-point favorite versus the Cardinals and came away with a 41-21 victory. In the rematch Florida State is a 3-point road favorite. Florida State is 3-1 SU and 2-2 ATS in their last four versus Louisville. The Seminoles are also 5-2 ATS in their last seven road games and Louisville is 4-8 ATS in their last 12 home games.

The No. 3 Ohio State Buckeyes also get a ranked matchup this weekend when they visit the No. 14 Oklahoma Sooners.

Ohio State has won four in a row SU and ATS after defeating the Tulsa Golden Hurricane 48-3 as a 28.5-point favorite last week. In their last 28 games the Buckeyes are 27-1 SU and 17-11 ATS.

Oklahoma crushed the Louisiana-Monroe Warhawks 59-17 as a 46-point favorite last week. After failing to cover the spread in the win they dropped to 1-4 ATS in their last five games.

The Buckeyes are a 3-point favorite and they have won 15 straight as a road favorite while going 9-6 ATS. Oklahoma has won their last three SU as a home underdog.
