College Football Week 5 Top Odds Matchups

The No. 3 Mississippi Rebels aim to continue their run up the rankings this week when they travel to the swamp to face the No. 25 Florida Gators as favorites at the sportsbooks.

The Rebels posted their fourth win in a row last week after getting past Vanderbilt 27-16 as a 27-point favorite. Florida has also started the season 4-0 after edging Tennessee 28-27 last week as a 1-point underdog. The Gators escaped with the win thanks to a 63-yard touchdown pass from Will Grier to Antonio Callaway late in the fourth quarter.

At online sportsbook Bovada the Rebels are a 7.5-point favorite. In their last five games against the Gators the Rebels are 3-2 SU and a perfect 5-0 ATS. Mississippi hasn’t been kind to bettors on the road with a 2-5 ATS record in their last seven, while the Gators have the same dilemma at home, 3-5 ATS in their last eight.

The No. 13 Alabama Crimson Tide rebounded with a 34-0 shutout of Louisiana Monroe last week and they’ll try to keep it going when they visit the No. 8 Georgia Bulldogs.

The Tide were a 37.5-point favorite last week and failed to cover the spread dropping to 1-3 ATS on the season. The Alabama defense was a force in the win holding LA Monroe to only 92 yards.

Georgia defeated Southern 48-6 as a huge 50-point favorite last week. Nick Chubb and Sony Michel combined to rush for 206 yards and four touchdowns.

The Bulldogs are a 2-point favorite at Bovada as they try to extend their three-game home winning streak. In their last 12 home games Georgia is 11-1 SU and 7-5 ATS. Alabama has been an awful bet on the road at 1-7-1 ATS in their last nine.

In other Top 25 action this weekend No. 6 Notre Dame faces No. 23 Clemson in a game too close to call for the 5Dimes oddsmakers who have listed it as a pick’em.

The Fighting Irish improved to 4-0 last week after pounding Massachusetts 62-27 as a 28-point favorite. The Irish had 457 rushing yards and six rushing touchdowns in the win.

Clemson is coming off their bye week having won five in a row and 11 of their last 12. They’re also 5-7 ATS in those dozen games.  At home the Tigers are on an 11-game winning streak with an 8-3 mark ATS.
