Favored Philly Set to Battle Dallas for Control of the NFC East

The NFL may have saved the best for last in this Sunday’s slate of games with a classic NFC East showdown between the 9-4 Dallas Cowboys and the 9-4 Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday Night Football. The Eagles are listed as 3-point home favorites and 5Dimes has set the NFL betting odds for the total at 55.

Dallas came out on the wrong end of a 33-10 romp on Thanksgiving Day as a 3-point home favorite in their first meeting this season and its margin for error to stay in the division title race remains razor thin. The Cowboys are 6-0 SU and 5-1 ATS in their last six road games and Philadelphia is 10-2 SU in its last 12 games at home. Looking back at the recent trends in this series, the road team has won six of the last seven meetings SU.

There are a number of other key divisional matchups in Week 15 of the NFL season starting with Denver on the road against 8-5 San Diego. The 10-3 Broncos can clinch the AFC West with a win and they come into town as 4.5-point favorites to get it done. The total line has been set at 50.5. The first meeting between these two division rivals this season ended with Denver on top 35-21 as a 9.5-point favorite at home. The total went OVER the 50.5-point line in that game. The Broncos have covered ATS in four of their last five road games against San Diego.

The 7-6 Houston Texans will try to keep Indianapolis from clinching the AFC South division title as 7.5-point road underdogs this weekend, and the total for this Sunday’s game has been set at 49. The 9-4 Colts have already beaten the Texans once this season in a tight 33-28 road victory in early October as 2.5-point road favorites. It will be a tall task for Houston to get a SU win considering it has lost its last 12 road games against Indianapolis.

It is pretty much a foregone conclusion that New England will win its sixth straight AFC East title at 10-3 on the year, but it will try and make it official this Sunday as a 9-point home favorite against the 7-6 Miami Dolphins. Miami opened the season with a stunning 33-20 victory over the Patriots as a 3.5-point home underdog with the total going OVER the 5Dimes closing 47.5-point line. The total for this game has been set at 48 and it has stayed UNDER in 12 of the Dolphins' last 15 games against a divisional opponent.
