MLB Betting: A’s Have Been Hot In Oakland

The Oakland Athletics look to continue their recent hot streak Tuesday night when they open a two-game series with the struggling Seattle Mariners.

The Athletics head into the series on a four-game winning streak. They’re also 6-1 in their last seven and 10-2 in their last 12 at home. The Mariners have lost four straight and they’re 1-7 in their last eight. On the road Seattle has dropped seven in a row.

The scheduled pitching matchup for Tuesday is Marco Gonzales (10-7, 4.24) for Seattle and Daniel Mengden (4-1, 4.73) for Oakland.

Gonzales is 5-1 in his last six starts and has been stellar against Oakland this season with a 3-0 record and 2.57 ERA in three starts.

Mengden faced the Mariners on July 7 and posted a win after allowing three runs on six hits in 5.1 innings. Oakland won 7-4 as a -129 road favorite at Bovada Sportsbook.

In 13 matchups between Oakland and Seattle this season, the Mariners have a slight advantage with seven wins. However, most of those wins came early in the season. In the last nine between Oakland and Seattle, the Athletics are 6-3.

D-backs seek to take bite out of Lynn, Rangers

Also on tap Tuesday night is an interleague matchup between the Arizona Diamondbacks and Texas Rangers.

Arizona headed into the series opener on Monday having lost its last two games and was 1-5 in the last six on the road. Texas had also lost its last two after winning three in a row.

Pitching on Tuesday should be Alex Young (2-0, 0.68) for Arizona and Lance Lynn (12-4, 3.69) for Texas.

Young has only appeared in three games in his short MLB career. In his last start against the Colorado Rockies, he didn’t allow a single hit over six shutout innings. Arizona won 5-3 as a +137 underdog.

Lynn has won his last five starts and leads the majors with 12 wins. He faced Arizona on April 10 and allowed one run on four hits with nine strikeouts over six innings. Texas won 5-2 as a +115 underdog. In 12 career games against Arizona, Lynn is 6-0 with a 2.80 ERA.

The Rangers and Diamondbacks split a two-game series in Arizona in April. In the last 12 matchups between Texas and Arizona, the home team is 8-4.
