NBA Betting: Jazz, Clippers Fight To Stay Alive

The Utah Jazz and Los Angeles Clippers will both be looking to avoid elimination Wednesday night as they head into Game 5 of their opening-round playoff series.

The Jazz are down 3-1 to the Houston Rockets after staving off elimination with an upset win in Game 4. Utah was a 2.5-point home underdog at Bovada Sportsbook and defeated Houston 107-91.

With their win in Game 4, Utah snapped a four-game losing streak straight up and improved to 2-3 against the spread in its last five. The Jazz are still a lousy 1-6 SU and 2-5 ATS in their last seven playoff games. Playing on the road Wednesday may be what ends Utah’s season. The Jazz have lost four straight on the road at 1-3 ATS, and in the playoffs they’re 1-5 SU and 2-4 ATS in their last six road games.

Even with the Game 4 loss, Houston is still a strong 9-2 SU and ATS in its last 11 games. At home, the Rockets have won nine straight while going 7-1-1 ATS.

If you’re a totals bettor, you could have been making a mint on this series and on the Rockets by riding the UNDER. In the first four games in this series, the UNDER was 3-0-1. The Rockets are 7-1-2 UNDER in their last 10 games, and in the playoffs they’re 8-0-1 UNDER in their last nine. In the last eight matchups between the Jazz and Rockets, the UNDER is 6-1-1.

Warriors 11-10-1 ATS in last 22 playoff games

In Wednesday’s other matchup, the Clippers look to survive down 3-1 to the Golden State Warriors.

In Game 4 on Sunday, the Warriors won 113-105 but failed to cover the 9.5-point spread. Golden State is 2-2 ATS in the series and in its last 11 games is 9-2 SU and 6-5 ATS. At home, Golden State is 6-1 SU and 4-3 ATS in its last seven.

In the playoffs, the Warriors have been a solid pick lately at 9-1 SU and 7-3 ATS. That might surprise some who have been disappointed by the Warriors in the playoffs for years, as they are 20-2 SU but only 11-10-1 ATS in their last 22 games.

The Clippers have been a team for bettors to avoid lately with their 2-6 SU and ATS record in their last eight games. Los Angeles has been just as bad in the playoffs for years at 4-11 SU and 5-10 ATS in its last 15. On the road in the playoffs, the Clippers are 3-8 SU and 5-6 ATS in their last 11.

Not surprisingly, the Warriors have dominated this matchup. In their last seven against the Clippers, the Warriors are 6-1 SU and 4-3 ATS, and in their last 22 they’re 19-3 SU and 12-10 ATS.
