NFL Week 2 Slate: Best Betting Matchups

The Seattle Seahawks will try to right the ship after their disappointing start, while the Green Bay Packers will be looking for some payback when they host Seattle in Week 2 of the NFL season as a 3.5-point favorite at online sportsbook Bovada.

This is a rematch of the NFC Championship Game which Seattle won 28-22 in overtime as an 8.5-point home favorite. Russell Wilson threw four interceptions in that game, but delivered when it counted with a TD pass to Jermaine Kerse in the extra frame.

In their opener last week Seattle stumbled in a 34-31 OT loss to St. Louis as a 4.5-point road favorite, while Green Bay knocked off Chicago 31-23 as 7-point chalk.

If the trends mean anything in this one Green Bay could have the advantage at home at Lambeau Field. Seattle has won three in a row against Green Bay, but all three victories have come at home.

At Green Bay the Packers have won five straight against Seattle with a 3-1-1 ATS record.  Overall Seattle is 12-1 SU and 8-4-1 ATS in their last 13 at home, compared to 6-5 SU and ATS in their last 11 on the road.

The biggest spread on the Week 2 slate is in New Orleans where the Saints are a 10-point favorite at Bovada versus the Buccaneers. Not bad for a Saints squad that was just bombed 31-19 by Arizona as a 3-point underdog.

The Bucs also got off to a slow start, falling to Tennessee 42-14 as a 3-point favorite. The Saints have won seven in a row versus Tampa Bay with a 4-3 record ATS. In their last 12 at home against the Bucs the Saints are 4-8 ATS and when they’re a double digit favorite against Tampa the Saints are 7-1 SU and 3-5 ATS.

In one other interesting divisional matchup on tap this weekend Buffalo plays host to New England as 2.5-point underdogs at Bovada. After defeating Indianapolis last week can the Bills keep it going against the Pats?

Buffalo finally beat New England 17-9 as a 4.5-point underdog last December to snap a six game losing streak against them. At home the Bills are still on a three-game losing streak against the Pats and in their last 11 they are 1-10 SU and 2-8-1 ATS.
