NFL Week 3 Slate: Best Betting Matchups

The injury depleted Dallas Cowboys look to stay undefeated this week when they take on another undefeated team, the Atlanta Falcons.

Dallas improved to 2-0 last week by upsetting Philadelphia 20-10 as a 6.5-point underdog. That win came at a cost though as Tony Romo suffered a broken collarbone, sidelining him for a few months. With Dez Bryant already out and Jason Witten also dealing with injuries the Cowboys offense could be in trouble in the hands of inexperienced QB Brandon Weeden.

The Falcons won their second straight as an underdog last week, topping the Giants 24-20 as a 2-point underdog. As a 2.5-point road chalk this week at Bovada it is the first time this season Atlanta has been favored. Against the Giants Julio Jones was a force, hauling in 13 passes for 135 yards.

In their last six home games against the Falcons Dallas is 5-1 SU, but only 3-3 ATS. In the last game between Dallas and Atlanta the Falcons posted a 19-13 win as a 4-point home favorite. In their last 10 games as the underdog at home, Dallas is 2-8 SU and 6-4 ATS.

The Philadelphia Eagles are arguably one of the most disappointing teams in the NFL so far after dropping their first two games. They’ll face the 2-0 Jets as a 2.5-point underdog this week at 5Dimes.

Philly lost to Dallas 20-10 as a 6.5-point favorite behind a stalled offense. Sam Bradford turned the ball over three times, while DeMarco Murray rushed for only two yards on 13 carries. In their last six games the Eagles are 1-5 SU and ATS.

The Jets upset Indianapolis 20-7 as a 6-point underdog last week. That was their fifth straight win ATS, thanks in part to the defense forcing five turnovers.

Philadelphia has dominated this matchup with six straight wins over the Jets with a 5-1 ATS mark. The final score in those six games went OVER the posted total five times.

The biggest spread on the Week 3 odds list is Jacksonville at New England. At Bovada the Patriots are a 14-point favorite.
