NFL Week 8 Betting Preview and Analysis

Top spot in the NFC East division will be on the line Sunday night when the Dallas Cowboys play host to the Philadelphia Eagles.

Dallas is coming off their bye week and last took the field in Week 6 when they defeated the Green Bay Packers 30-16 as a 5.5-point road underdog. The win was the fifth straight both straight up and against the spread for Dallas, and three of them came as the underdog. This week against the Eagles Dallas is a 4.5-point favorite at online sportsbook Bovada.

Philadelphia upset the Minnesota Vikings 21-10 as a 3-point underdog last week. That snapped a two-game SU and ATS losing streak for the Eagles.

The good news for the Eagles, in the last six between Dallas and Philadelphia the visitor is 6-0 SU. Philadelphia is 3-2 SU and 2-3 ATS in their last five against the Cowboys, and they’re a solid 5-1 SU and 4-2 ATS in their last six games in Dallas.

In the AFC East on Sunday the Buffalo Bills and New England Patriots collide for the second time this season.

In Week 4 Buffalo surprised New England 16-0 as a 3.5-point road underdog. One thing to note is that the Patriots played without Tom Brady.

Last week New England won their third in a row SU and ATS and improved to 6-1 SU and ATS in their last seven with a 27-16 win over the Pittsburgh Steelers as 7-point chalk. Buffalo lost to the Miami Dolphins 28-25 as a 2.5-point road favorite last week, snapping a four-game winning streak.

The Patriots are a 6.5-point road favorite against the Bills this weekend. They’re 8-2 SU, but only 5-4-1 ATS in their last 10 against Buffalo. In Buffalo they’ve won 11 of their last 12 with a 9-2-1 ATS record.

In the AFC West this weekend the San Diego Chargers will look for another upset win over the Denver Broncos as a 6-point road underdog.

In Week 6 the Chargers were 3-point home underdogs and beat the Broncos 21-13. Despite the loss the Broncos are still 9-2 SU and 6-5 ATS in their last 11 games versus San Diego.

The Chargers upset the Atlanta Falcons 33-30 in overtime as a 4.5-point underdog last week. They’ve won three straight ATS and they’re 9-2 ATS in their last 11. The Chargers are 1-6 SU in their last seven road games, but 6-1 ATS.

Denver defeated the Houston Texans 27-9 as an 8.5-point favorite last week. They’re 7-1 SU in their last eight home games with a 4-3-1 ATS record.
