PGA Betting: Memorial Tournament Preview

The PGA Tour’s best tee it up at Muirfield Village Golf Club this week for the Memorial Tournament.

The tournament favorite at Bovada Sportsbook this week is Jon Rahm at +1000. Rahm also happens to be the defending champion of the Memorial.

Last year at Muirfield, Rahm shot 9 under par to beat Ryan Palmer by three strokes. He has cracked the top 10 in three of his last five tournaments, including tying for eighth at the PGA Championship two weeks ago.

Rahm favored to repeat as Memorial champion

Following Rahm on the Memorial odds at Bovada are Bryson DeChambeau, Jordan Spieth and Rory McIlroy, all at +1400.

DeChambeau will be looking for his second career win at Muirfield after previously winning the Memorial in 2018. DeChambeau has only one top-10 finish in his last four events, tying for ninth at the Wells Fargo Championship in early May. He scored over 70 in all four rounds of the PGA Championship where he tied for 38th place.

Spieth just missed adding another tour win to his resume last week at the Charles Schwab Challenge. He began the final round with the lead but stumbled with two bogeys late in the round to finish in second, two strokes behind winner Jason Kokrak.

Mr. Consistency tied for second on oddsboard

Despite coming up short of the win last week, Spieth continues to be one of the most consistent players on tour lately with seven top-10 finishes in his last 10 tournaments, which includes a win in the Valero Texas Open.

McIlroy went into the PGA Championship as one of the favorites two weeks ago and struggled throughout while tying for 49th place. Two weeks earlier, he had posted his first win of the season at the Wells Fargo Championship, which was his first victory on the tour since 2019.

Which version of McIlroy shows up this week?

In his last seven tournaments, McIlroy has three top-10 finishes and a win, and he’s missed the cut three times. It’s anyone’s guess which version of McIlroy shows up at Muirfield this week.

The odds on a few other notables this week include Collin Morikawa and Justin Thomas, both at +1600, Viktor Hovland at +1800 and Xander Schauffele at +2000.

Along with Rahm and DeChambeau, there are several other former Memorial winners in this week’s field. They are 2019 winner Patrick Cantlay (+2000), 2017 winner Jason Dufner (+30000), 2016 winner William McGirt (+75000), 2015 winner David Lingmerth (+50000), 2014 winner Hideki Matsuyama (+2500) and 2013 winner Matt Kuchar (+10000).
