PGA Betting: RBC Heritage Odds Preview

After finishing up the first major of the season last week, the PGA heads north to Hilton Head Island, South Carolina, this week for the RBC Heritage at the Harbour Town Golf Links.

As usual, the favorite this week at Bovada Sportsbook is Dustin Johnson at +1000. Johnson was also favored at the Masters last week when he failed to make the cut and defend the green jacket. After missing the cut at Augusta National, Johnson hasn’t come close to the top of the leaderboard in his last three tournaments, with his best finish coming at the Players Championship where he tied for 48th place.

Defending champ Simpson second in RBC Heritage odds

Following Johnson on the odds list at Bovada is the defending RBC Heritage champion, Webb Simpson, at +1200. Simpson shot 22 under par at Harbour Town last year to edge Abraham Ancer by one stroke. He will look to become the first repeat winner of the RBC Heritage since Boo Weekley won back to back in 2007 and 2008.

Simpson finished tied for 12th last week at Augusta and has four top-10 finishes so far this season. Ancer also returns this week and is a +2800 underdog at Bovada.

Rounding out the top five on the Bovada odds list are Patrick Cantlay at +1600, Collin Morikawa at +2000 and Daniel Berger at +2200. From that trio, Morikawa posted the best finish last week, tying for 18th place at the Masters.

Masters runner-up Zalatoris listed at +2500 on board

Masters championship Hideki Matsuyama is not in the field at the RBC Heritage this week. The top finisher from the Masters in this week’s field is runner-up Will Zalatoris at +2500.

Including Simpson, the last eight winners of the RBC Heritage will all be in South Carolina this week looking to add another title to their resume. They include 2019 winner C.T. Pan (+10000), 2018 winner Satoshi Kodaira (+40000), 2017 winner Wesley Bryan (+40000), 2016 winner Brenden Grace (+8000), 2015 and 2010 winner Jim Furyk (+15000), 2014 winner Matt Kuchar (+4000) and 2013 winner Graeme McDowell (+15000).

If you’re looking for a dark-horse pick this week, consider Luke Donald at +50000. Donald has come close to winning at Harbour Town multiple times with five second-place finishes in the RBC Heritage. His last second-place finish was in 2017 behind Bryan.
