UFC Betting: Adesanya vs Vettori 2 Preview

A pair of UFC titles will be on the line this weekend when the Octagon heads to Glendale, Arizona, for UFC 263: Adesanya vs Vettori 2.

The main event is a UFC middleweight title bout featuring champion Israel Adesanya and challenger Marvin Vettori. At Bovada Sportsbook, Adesanya is a -265 favorite and Vettori a +210 underdog.

Adesanya suffered the first loss of his professional MMA career in his last bout, which dropped his record to 20-1 with 15 wins by knockout. He made the jump to light heavyweight in that bout at UFC 259 in March and lost to UFC light heavyweight champion Jan Blachowicz by unanimous decision as a -285 favorite.

Vettori has won his last five fights and owns an overall record of 17-4-1 with two wins by KO and nine by submission. He last fought at UFC on ABC 2 in April when he defeated Kevin Holland by unanimous decision as a -350 favorite.

Adesanya and Vettori previously met up at UFC on Fox 29 in April 2018. In that fight, Adesanya won by split decision as a -270 favorite.

Figueiredo favored over Moreno in flyweight rematch

Also on the main card this weekend is a rematch between UFC flyweight champion Deiveson Figueiredo and Brandon Moreno for the UFC flyweight title. At Bovada, Figueiredo is a -230 favorite and Moreno a +185 underdog.

Figueiredo is 20-1-1 with nine wins by KO and eight by submission. Moreno is 18-5-2 with three wins by KO and 10 by submission.

Figueiredo and Moreno met up at UFC 256 in December. That fight was declared a majority draw and Figueiredo retained the flyweight title. In that original fight, Figueiredo was a -445 favorite and Moreno a +250 underdog.

Edwards puts winning streak on line against Diaz

One other notable fight on the main card this weekend is a welterweight bout between Leon Edwards and Nate Diaz. At Bovada, Edwards is a -575 favorite and Diaz a +390 underdog.

Edwards is undefeated in his last nine fights and his overall record stands at 18-3 and one no contest with six wins by KO and three by submission. He last fought in March at UFC Fight Night 187 where his fight against Belal Muhammad was declared a no contest after Muhammad was on the receiving end of an eye poke and could not continue. Edwards was a -350 favorite in that fight.

Diaz will be fighting for the first time since 2019. He is 4-5 in his last nine fights and owns an overall record of 20-12 with five wins by KO and 11 by submission. He last fought at UFC 244 in November 2019, losing to Jorge Masvidal by third-round TKO as a +105 underdog.
