Week 7 Sunday NFL Betting Preview

Having played to an UNDER result in each of their last seven meetings, the Saints and Buccaneers will hit the gridiron in Tampa Bay on Sunday in one of the matchups of note for NFL bettors this weekend.

Tampa Bay and New Orleans have turned in UNDER results in each of their seven matchups since November 2008, and the total for their game on Sunday afternoon has been set at 50 points at 5Dimes. An UNDER would buck the NFL trends for those two NFC South teams for this year – they're a combined 7-3 on the totals this season.

The Bucs are also pegged as 1-point home underdogs for Sunday, and they sit at 2-3 SU but a lucrative 4-1 ATS heading into their Week 7 matchup. The Saints have been terrible at 1-4 SU on the season, and not much better at 2-3 ATS through five games.

The Green Bay Packers finally asserted themselves with a big win over the Houston Texans in Week 6, and they're the biggest road favorite on the board on the NFL betting lines at 5Dimes for this week at -5 in St. Louis against the Rams.

The Packers are 3-3 SU and 2-4 ATS on the season, and they've managed to win the game and cover the posted spread in each of their last three matchups with the Rams. St. Louis is 3-3 SU on the season, but they're surprised at 5-1 ATS over six games.

The biggest favorites overall for this week are the Niners and Patriots at 5Dimes, with San Francisco at -8 at home against the Seahawks on Thursday night, and the Patriots at -12 at home against the Jets on Sunday afternoon. New England and New York have turned in five straight OVER results in their matchups, with the Patriots covering the posted spread on the NFL lines in three of the past four games between the teams.

Other big spreads for this week include the Vikings -7.5 vs. Arizona, the Texans -7.5 vs. the Ravens, and the Giants -7 vs. the Redskins, with each of those favorites playing at home on Sunday afternoon. Washington, at 5-1 on the OVER/UNDER this season, has failed to cover the spread in each of its last three games against the rival Giants.

Rounding out the slate for Sunday are Tennessee at Buffalo (-3), Dallas at Carolina (+1), Cleveland at Indianapolis (-3), Jacksonville at Oakland (-4), and Pittsburgh at Cincinnati (+1). On Monday night it'll then be Detroit at Chicago, with the 5Dimes NFL betting lines having the Bears pegged as 5.5-point home favorites for that contest.
