home run

Las Vegas - They're GONNA play. Even if they have to play until Thanksgiving! MLBPA executive director Tony Clark said "players want to play, that's what we do." Clark told USA Today that the players are "very open to games being held in empty stadiums and at neutral sites. So as soon as possible, as soon as it's safe, we're GONNA have baseball." It IS my absolute FAVORITE sport!!! Sure, football is the KING of the world when it comes to wagering dollars, but MLB is my blood. And so we have added a cool new prop on which player will hit the most home runs.

Pete Alonso cranked 53, in his ROOKIE season, and also lifted the trophy in an epic Home Run Derby. Are we gonna get a repeat? Or, are we gonna go fishing with the GREATEST player working, Mike Trout? Or, is court gonna be in session with a healthy Aaron Judge? These three are all bunched at the top of the odds chart at 10/1. Thinking about Alonso who played 161 games. Thinking about Trout who played 133 games. Not really thinking about the Judge who played only 102 games. Is the Polar Bear gonna play 161 again? Maybe. Will the National League pitchers have a better read on the kid who went ballistic in his rookie season? Maybe. Will the Judge be in session for a full season? Maybe. Lotta maybes, but wanna focus one of the ALL TIMERS, the 'Millville Meteor.' In case anyone asks you, Millville is in Southern New Jersey, just about 46 clicks from Philadelphia. Trout played in 133 games and had Justin Bour, Andrelton Simmons, Brian Goodwin and Shohei Otani hitting behind him last season in the 3 slot. Still hit 45 bombs. This season he'll have Anthony Rendon in the 3 slot. YUGE difference. Rendon hit .319, with 34 HRs, 44 doubles (led the League) and 126 RBI (led the League). Definitely gonna drop some chips on the Meteor at 10/1.

If you're looking for a long shot, tickle Cincinnati's Eugenio Suarez at 25/1. Why? He hit 49 bombs last season and plays in a park that is VERY hitter-friendly, the Great American Ball Park. Bolibomba, yea, that's Eugenio's nickname, will probably hit after Joey Votto and before Mike Moustakas. A perfect spot for his big stick. And if you're wondering about his nickname, Bolibomba is a type of chewing gum that is popular in Suarez's home nation of Venezuela. Suarez did have minor shoulder surgery in January, so call his doctor and ask for an update before you open the wallet.
