Love the green nail polish...

What's the first thing you noticed???

Jumping on the Zamboni and gonna hit the NHL Stanley Cup tonight, starting with Winnipeg over Minnesota. The Jets don't get much love from the media, maybe because they're in the province of Manitoba, which is sandwiched between Ontario and Saskatchewan. Basically, the middle of nowhere. However, if you're just skating on to the NHL ice for the first time this year, I can tell you that the Jets finished with 114 points, just three behind the Predators (117) who had the most in the league to win the Presidents' Trophy. Winnipeg is led by captain Blake Wheeler, who finished the season with 91 points on 23 goals and 68 assists. In the net, goalie Connor Hellebuyck posted 44 wins, tied for the top spot with Andrei Vasilevskiy. And you always like to see a team head into the playoffs on a roll, and the Jets are flying. They have won 11 of their last 12, and are working on a 9-0 perfecto at the Bell MTS Place. The Wild still have a few nagging injuries and have won only three of their last eight. Just like the 15,000+ inside the arena, I'll be part of the "Winnipeg Whiteout." The "Whiteout" started back in 1987 when the Jets played the Flames in the first round. EVERYONE wore white and they wound up beating Calgary in six games. Get your "white" on with me, and watch it turn into our favorite green.

On the baseball board, we're looking West and using the Dodgers over the A's.
