Las Vegas - My nephew walked in a peaceful protest down in Daytona Beach, Florida. My nephew is biracial and it scares me every time he walks out the door.

My nephew is HUMAN!!!

Praying that some people WAY smarter than me can find some answers. PLZ!!!

Now a little lightness from the archives, with a big shout out to Jerry B. who remembers his friend David R. selling his FREAKIN' TV to pay off his figure to his bookie. We had one of David's stories on Americasline.com a few weeks ago, Jerry read it and pulled out some memories from the way-back machine. Talk to us Jerry...

'It brought back the memory of you selling the TV in your bedroom so you could pay your guy, Hy. I remember how you scored when the St. Louis Cards ran off a streak of at least 18 wins. Remember celebrating a win by going to the diner and drinking Vanilla Cokes with a batch of french fries. Remember when I drove to your house one evening, stayed for a while, forgot I drove, and WALKED home! You had blanks of steel betting big, hoping to win enough to pay a huge amount you owed. You made our teenage years very memorable, especially when you captured your gorgeous Breck girl, Susan. I’ll always remember your time in Marine boot camp, in Paris Island! You managed to periodically mail me brief, stressful notes, in pencil, on whatever paper you could find, about how demanding and awful it was. But you made it home fit and looking good. Lots of memories, David, and I’m happy to say most of them were terrific.'

Thx for the story Jerry, and THX for your service David!!!

I never sold anything to pay off my bookie, but sure did scrounge a few bucks from some of my Dad's hiding spots. Actually, did try and sell my AEPi fraternity pin, but no one would gimme anything for it. Wound up giving it to Mrs. Ecks & Bacon when we got engaged because I could NOT afford a diamond ring.
