Winthrop got 27 points from Nych Smith en route to a 90-86 victory over Campbell on Thursday at Pope Center.
Adam Pickett had 23 points for Winthrop and Austin Awad chipped in with 12 points. Nych Smith had 3 assists for them, while Adam Pickett was the team's top rebounder, grabbing 5 boards.
Campbell got 34 points from Chris Clemons in a losing cause and another 25 points from Andrew Eudy. Andrew Eudy contributed 7 assists for them, while Andrew Eudy had 7 rebounds.
Winthrop was losing at the break before taking care of business in the second half.
Winthrop won the battle of the boards, outrebounding their counterparts 30-27.
Winthrop looks to continue their winning ways next game with a battle against the High Point. Campbell will aim to get back on the winning track at UNC Asheville.
