Butler cruised to victory on Saturday, running Southern out of the gym and running up a 66-41 score at Hinkle Fieldhouse.
Butler got 12 points from Bryce Golden and another 11 points from Sean McDermott. Aaron Thompson contributed 8 assists, while Bryce Nze cleaned the glass with 7 rebounds.
Southern got a 13-point performance from Isaiah Rollins, who was supported by 8 points from Brendon Brooks. Ahsante Shivers had 2 assists in a losing cause for Southern, while Isaiah Rollins grabbed 6 rebounds.
