Recap - UMass Defeats VCU 60-52

UMass got 21 points from Carl Pierre as they ran past VCU 60-52 on Wednesday at William D. Mullins Center.

UMass won and also put money in the pockets of their supporters by covering the +5.0-point spread as underdogs.

Tre Mitchell had 19 points for UMass and Sean East II chipped in with 10 points. Sean East II had 6 assists for them, while Tre Mitchell was the team's top rebounder, grabbing 15 boards.

VCU got 14 points from Marcus Santos-Silva in a losing cause and another 13 points from De'Riante Jenkins. Nah'Shon Hyland contributed 4 assists for them, while Marcus Santos-Silva had 11 rebounds.

First-half bettors who backed VCU were victorious, as the score was 33-29 at the break.

UMass had a 35-33 advantage in the rebounding department as they won the battle in the paint.

UMass looks to continue their winning ways next game with a battle against the Richmond. VCU will aim to get back on the winning track vs. George Washington.
