Richmond Spiders vs George Mason Patriots Recap - Richmond Wins 77-57
The battle between Richmond and George Mason didn’t turn out to be much of a battle at all as George Mason was handed a 77-57 defeat on Saturday at EagleBank Arena.
Richmond won and also put money in the pockets of their supporters by covering the -5.0-point spread as favorites.
Richmond got 18 points from Grant Golden and another 17 points from Tyler Burton. Jacob Gilyard contributed 5 assists, while Grant Golden cleaned the glass with 10 rebounds.
George Mason got a 16-point performance from AJ Wilson, who was supported by 10 points from Jamal Hartwell II. Jordan Miller had 3 assists in a losing cause for George Mason, while Javon Greene grabbed 7 rebounds.
Richmond led at halftime, 35-27.
Richmond won the battle of the boards, outrebounding their counterparts 33-32.
Richmond looks to continue their winning ways next game with a battle against the VCU. George Mason will aim to get back on the winning track vs. La Salle.
