Furman vs Hiwassee Final: 98-48 - Recap
The battle between Furman and Hiwassee didnt turn out to be much of a battle at all as Hiwassee was handed a 98-48 defeat on Friday at Timmons Arena.
Matt Rafferty had 18 points for Furman and Geoff Beans chipped in with 14 points. John Davis III had 5 assists for them, while Matt Rafferty was the team's top rebounder, grabbing 14 boards.
Hiwassee got a 10-point performance from Ben Snider, who was supported by 9 points from Dess Culpepper. Naequon Newman had 4 assists in a losing cause for Hiwassee, while Toure Fudge grabbed 3 rebounds.
Furman was winning at the break before taking care of business in the second half.
Furman won the battle of the boards, outrebounding their counterparts 52-22.
Furman looks to continue their winning ways next game with a battle against the Winthrop. Hiwassee will aim to get back on the winning track at Tennessee Tech.
