UTEP Defeats Florida International 72-68 - Recap
Isiah Osborne scored 21 points leading UTEP to a 72-68 victory over Florida International at Don Haskins Center on Saturday.
UTEP did not, however, defeat Florida International against the spread, which closed at -4.5 at most sportsbooks.
UTEP got 14 points from Evan Gilyard and another 10 points from Paul Thomas. Matt Willms contributed 2 assists, while Trey Wade cleaned the glass with 8 rebounds.
Florida International got 19 points from Hassan Hussein in a losing cause and another 19 points from Michael Douglas. Brian Beard Jr. contributed 6 assists for them, while Michael Douglas had 10 rebounds.
UTEP was winning at the break before taking care of business in the second half.
Florida International had a 40-38 advantage in the rebounding department as they won the battle in the paint.
UTEP looks to continue their winning ways next game with a battle against the UTSA. Florida International will aim to get back on the winning track vs. Old Dominion.
