Lions Fall 21-16 Against Edmonton - Game Recap

James Wilder Jr. scampered through the British Columbia defense for 127 yards as Edmonton handed the Lions a 21-16 defeat on Thursday at BC Place Stadium.

Bettors who backed the Elks were also rewarded, as they covered the closing number as an underdog of +3.0 at sportsbooks. Over-Under bettors saw the total score go UNDER the closing total of 48.0.

James Wilder Jr. rushed for 127 yards, while Trevor Harris added 9 yards in the win. Greg Ellingson and Tevaun Smith added 148 and 37 receiving yards respectively.

Shaq Cooper rushed for 35 yards for British Columbia, while Mike Reilly added 14 yards. Mike Reilly threw for 128 yards for the Lions, while receivers Lemar Durant and Bryan Burnham had 53 and 32 yards respectively.

Edmonton outgained British Columbia 433-184 yards in the game, while the battle of first downs was won 26-14 by the Elks.

British Columbia lost the time of possession battle 32:44-27:16, leaving their defense on the field more than they wanted.

Edmonton looks to continue their winning ways next game with a battle against the Argonauts. The Lions will aim to get back on the winning track at Ottawa.
