Tulsa Falls 28-7 to Spartans - Recap
The battle between the Spartans and Golden Hurricane didn't turn out to be much of a battle at all as Tulsa was handed a 28-7 defeat on Friday at Spartan Stadium.
Bettors who backed the Spartans were disappointed, as they failed to cover the closing number of -23.5. Over-Under bettors saw the total score go UNDER the closing total of 47.0.
Connor Heyward rushed for 43 yards, while Brian Lewerke added 34 yards in the win. Darrell Stewart Jr. and La'Darius Jefferson added 56 and 29 receiving yards respectively.
Shamari Brooks rushed for 0 yards for Tulsa, while Corey Taylor II added -1 yards. Zach Smith threw for 153 yards for the Golden Hurricane, while receivers Keylon Stokes and Sam Crawford Jr. had 54 and 49 yards respectively.
Michigan State outgained Tulsa 303-80 yards in the game, while the battle of first downs was won 18-8 by the Spartans.
Tulsa lost the time of possession battle 36:06-23:54, leaving their defense on the field more than they wanted.
Michigan State looks to continue their winning ways next game with a battle against Western Michigan. Tulsa will aim to get back on the winning track at San Jose State.
