Recap - Longhorns Defeat LA Tech 45-14
LA Tech couldn't hang with the Longhorns on Saturday as Texas blasted the Bulldogs 45-14 in Week 1 action at Darrell K Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium.
Texas was a favorite by -20.5 points and came through with an ATS victory for bettors. The game went OVER the consensus closing total of 55.5.
Keaontay Ingram rushed for 78 yards, while Sam Ehlinger added 34 yards in the win. Collin Johnson and Brennan Eagles added 59 and 59 receiving yards respectively.
Jaqwis Dancy rushed for 25 yards for LA Tech, while Justin Henderson added 18 yards. J'mar Smith threw for 331 yards for the Bulldogs, while receivers Smoke Harris and Cee Jay Powell had 58 and 56 yards respectively.
Texas outgained LA Tech 454-413 yards in the game, while the battle of first downs was won 25-24 by the Bulldogs.
Texas lost the time of possession battle 32:16-27:44, leaving their defense on the field more than they wanted.
Next game, Texas takes its act home to face Louisiana State looking for another win. For LA Tech, they head home to face Grambling State.
