Zips Fall 21-0 Against Buffalo - Game Recap

Akron failed to break through the Buffalo defense on Saturday, suffering a 21-0 shutout at the hands of the Bulls in Week 8 action.

Bettors who backed the Bulls were also rewarded, as they covered the closing number as a favorite of -17.5 at sportsbooks. Over-Under bettors saw the total score go UNDER the closing total of 48.0.

Jaret Patterson rushed for 88 yards, while Kevin Marks added 71 yards in the win. Daniel Lee and Antonio Nunn added 30 and 25 receiving yards respectively.

Decavilon Reese rushed for 37 yards for Akron, while Peter Hayes-Patrick added 5 yards. Zach Gibson threw for 193 yards for the Zips, while receivers Julian Hicks and Nate Stewart had 51 and 42 yards respectively.

Akron lost the offensive yardage battle to Buffalo 254-196 yards in Saturday's game. Buffalo had more first downs as that total ended up 16-11.

Akron lost the time of possession battle 34:37-25:23, leaving their defense on the field more than they wanted.

Buffalo looks to continue their winning ways next game with a battle against Central Michigan. Akron will aim to get back on the winning track at Northern Illinois.
