Middle Tennessee Defeats Old Dominion 38-17 - Recap

The battle between the Blue Raiders and Monarchs didn't turn out to be much of a battle at all as Old Dominion was handed a 38-17 defeat on Saturday at Johnny (Red) Floyd Stadium.

Middle Tennessee won and also put money in the pockets of their supporters by covering the -13.5-point spread as favorites. Totals bettors, meanwhile, saw the game go OVER the closing number of 47.0.

Asher O'Hara rushed for 78 yards, while Terelle West added 34 yards in the win. Jarrin Pierce and Jimmy Marshall added 71 and 69 receiving yards respectively.

Robert Washington rushed for 44 yards for Old Dominion, while Blake Watson added 40 yards. Hayden Wolff threw for 321 yards for the Monarchs, while receivers Aaron Moore and Marcus Joyner had 194 and 44 yards respectively.

Old Dominion outgained Middle Tennessee 423-391 yards in the game, while the battle of first downs was won 23-22 by the Monarchs.

The time of possession battle favored Old Dominion as their offense was on the field for 33:13, longer than the 26:47 of their opponents.

Next game, Middle Tennessee takes its act on the road to face Western Kentucky looking for another win. For Old Dominion, they head home to face Charlotte.
