Mustangs Fall 35-28 Against Navy - Game Recap
The Mustangs had no answer for Malcolm Perry on Saturday as the Midshipmen rolled to a 35-28 win at Jack Stephens Field at Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium.
Navy was a favorite by -3.0 points and came through with an ATS victory for bettors. The game went UNDER the consensus closing total of 69.0.
Malcolm Perry rushed for 195 yards, while Jamale Carothers added 53 yards in the win. Ryan Mitchell and Mychal Cooper added 48 and 41 receiving yards respectively.
Xavier Jones rushed for 61 yards for SMU, while Shane Buechele added 22 yards. Shane Buechele threw for 251 yards for the Mustangs, while receivers Rashee Rice and James Proche had 76 and 60 yards respectively.
SMU lost the offensive yardage battle to Navy 540-344 yards in Saturday's game. Navy had more first downs as that total ended up 28-15.
The time of possession battle favored Navy as their offense was on the field for 39:40, longer than the 20:20 of their opponents.
Navy heads into a Week 14 battle against Houston. SMU, meanwhile, will have their next action against Tulane.
