Washington State Falls 21-19 to Cougars - Recap
Washington State was unable to contain Tyler Allgeier on Saturday and the result was a 21-19 Week 8 loss against the Cougars.
BYU did not, however, defeat the Cougars against the spread, which closed at -3.5 at most sportsbooks. Totals bettors, meanwhile, saw the game go UNDER the closing number of 56.5.
Tyler Allgeier rushed for 191 yards, while Puka Nacua added 26 yards in the win. Neil Pau'u and Isaac Rex added 70 and 46 receiving yards respectively.
Max Borghi rushed for 83 yards for Washington State, while Jayden de Laura added 10 yards. Jayden de Laura threw for 257 yards for the Cougars, while receivers Travell Harris and Calvin Jackson Jr. had 60 and 52 yards respectively.
Washington State lost the offensive yardage battle to BYU 385-350 yards in Saturday's game. BYU had more first downs as that total ended up 23-20.
Washington State led the time of possession tally, as the game finished as a 30:23-29:37 split in that important category.
Next game, BYU takes its act home to face Virginia looking for another win. For Washington State, they head on the road to face Arizona State.
