West Virginia Defeats Kansas State 17-16 - Recap

Justin Crawford ran for 104 yards as West Virginia handled Kansas State by a score of 17-16 on Saturday at Mountaineer Field at Milan Puskar Stadium.

The Mountaineers earned a straight-up victory but suffered an ATS defeat in failing to cover the -3.0-point spread. Over-Under bettors who played UNDER the total of 56.0 were rewarded with a winning wager.

Justin Crawford rushed for 104 yards, while Rushel Shell added 35 yards in the win. Shelton Gibson and Daikiel Shorts added 104 and 72 receiving yards respectively.

Charles Jones rushed for 53 yards for Kansas State, while Dalvin Warmack added 35 yards. Jesse Ertz threw for 166 yards for the Wildcats, while receivers Byron Pringle and Deante Burton had 61 and 37 yards respectively.

Kansas State lost the offensive yardage battle to West Virginia 422-286 yards in Saturday's game. West Virginia had more first downs as that total ended up 21-17.

West Virginia lost the time of possession battle 33:42-26:18, leaving their defense on the field more than they wanted.

West Virginia looks to continue their winning ways next game with a battle against Texas Tech. Kansas State will aim to get back on the winning track vs. Texas Tech.
