South Alabama Defeats Georgia State 13-10 - Recap
South Alabama earned a 13-10 victory over Georgia State on Saturday in Week 9 action at Ladd Peebles Stadium.
South Alabama did not, however, defeat the Panthers against the spread, which closed at -5.5 at most sportsbooks. Totals bettors, meanwhile, saw the game go UNDER the closing number of 46.5.
Xavier Johnson rushed for 83 yards, while Tyreis Thomas added 46 yards in the win. Gerald Everett and Xavier Johnson added 49 and 17 receiving yards respectively.
Aaron Winchester rushed for 64 yards for Georgia State, while Demarcus Kirk added 30 yards. Aaron Winchester threw for 113 yards for the Panthers, while receivers Glenn Smith and Robert Davis had 55 and 20 yards respectively.
South Alabama outgained Georgia State 306-240 yards in the game, while the battle of first downs was won 19-14 by the Jaguars.
South Alabama led the time of possession tally, as the game finished as a 30:30-29:30 split in that important category.
South Alabama looks to continue their winning ways next game with a battle against Louisiana-Monroe. Georgia State will aim to get back on the winning track vs. Arkansas State.
