Recap - Cardinal Defeat Oregon State 15-14
The Cardinal grabbed a Week 9 victory over the Beavers on Thursday, winning 15-14 at Reser Stadium.
Stanford did not, however, defeat the Beavers against the spread, which closed at -17.0 at most sportsbooks. Totals bettors, meanwhile, saw the game go UNDER the closing number of 56.0.
Cameron Scarlett rushed for 72 yards, while Trevor Speights added 10 yards in the win. Kaden Smith and Trenton Irwin added 37 and 33 receiving yards respectively.
Ryan Nall rushed for 84 yards for Oregon State, while Thomas Tyner added 52 yards. Darell Garretson threw for 126 yards for the Beavers, while receivers Noah Togiai and Timmy Hernandez had 38 and 30 yards respectively.
Stanford was outgained by Oregon State 264-222 yards in Thursday's match, while the important battle of first downs was won 20-12 by the Beavers.
Stanford lost the time of possession battle 32:46-27:14, leaving their defense on the field more than they wanted.
Next game, Stanford takes its act on the road to face Washington State looking for another win. For Oregon State, they head on the road to face California.
