Owls Fall 28-13 Against LA Tech - Game Recap
J'mar Smith was good for 314 yards through the air on Saturday as the Bulldogs got past the Owls by a score of 28-13 at Joe Aillet Stadium.
Bettors who backed the Bulldogs were disappointed, as they failed to cover the closing number of -24.0. Over-Under bettors saw the total score go UNDER the closing total of 53.0.
J'mar Smith completed 21 of 34 pass attempts for 314 yards for the Bulldogs in the win.
Aston Walter rushed for 72 yards for Rice, while Juma Otoviano added 14 yards. Shawn Stankavage threw for 216 yards for the Owls, while receivers Austin Walter and Aaron Cephus had 101 and 81 yards respectively.
Rice lost the offensive yardage battle to LA Tech 423-326 yards in Saturday's game. LA Tech had more first downs as that total ended up 20-15.
LA Tech led the time of possession tally, as the game finished as a 30:52-29:08 split in that important category.
Next game, LA Tech takes its act on the road to face Southern Miss looking for another win. For Rice, they head on the road to face LSU.
