UTEP Miners vs WKU Hilltoppers Recap - Hilltoppers Win 40-16
UTEP couldn't hang with the Hilltoppers on Saturday as WKU blasted the Miners 40-16 in Week 12 action at L.T. Smith Stadium.
Bettors who backed the Hilltoppers were also rewarded, as they covered the closing number as a favorite of -6.5 at sportsbooks. Over-Under bettors saw the total score go OVER the closing total of 47.5.
D'Andre Ferby rushed for 69 yards, while Steven Duncan added 54 yards in the win. Quin Jernighan and Mik'Quan Deane added 82 and 71 receiving yards respectively.
Treyvon Hughes rushed for 27 yards for UTEP, while Quadraiz Wadley added 22 yards. Brandon Jones threw for 340 yards for the Miners, while receivers David Lucero and Tre'Shon Wolf had 118 and 63 yards respectively.
UTEP lost the offensive yardage battle to WKU 422-392 yards in Saturday's game. WKU had more first downs as that total ended up 22-11.
UTEP lost the time of possession battle 38:05-21:55, leaving their defense on the field more than they wanted.
WKU looks to continue their winning ways next game with a battle against LA Tech. UTEP will aim to get back on the winning track vs. Southern Miss.
