Panthers Fall 45-17 Against Appalachian State - Game Recap

Darrynton Evans scampered through the Georgia State defense for 127 yards as Appalachian State handed the Panthers a 45-17 defeat on Saturday at Kidd Brewer Stadium.

Appalachian State won and also put money in the pockets of their supporters by covering the -27.5-point spread as favorites. Totals bettors, meanwhile, saw the game go OVER the closing number of 54.0.

Darrynton Evans rushed for 127 yards, while Marcus Williams Jr. added 58 yards in the win. Corey Sutton and Thomas Hennigan added 101 and 60 receiving yards respectively.

Dan Ellington rushed for 113 yards for Georgia State, while Tucker Gregg added 43 yards. Dan Ellington threw for 132 yards for the Panthers, while receivers Penny Hart and Cornelius McCoy had 50 and 45 yards respectively.

Georgia State was outgained by Appalachian State 524-329 yards in Saturday's match, while the important battle of first downs was won 25-15 by the Mountaineers.

The time of possession battle favored Appalachian State as their offense was on the field for 31:27, longer than the 28:33 of their opponents.
