Recap - Fighting Irish Defeat Syracuse 36-3
The battle between the Fighting Irish and Orange didn't turn out to be much of a battle at all as Syracuse was handed a 36-3 defeat on Saturday at Yankee Stadium.
Notre Dame won and also put money in the pockets of their supporters by covering the -10.0-point spread as favorites. Totals bettors, meanwhile, saw the game go UNDER the closing number of 64.5.
Dexter Williams rushed for 74 yards, while Brandon Wimbush added 44 yards in the win. Chase Claypool and Miles Boykin added 98 and 76 receiving yards respectively.
Moe Neal rushed for 74 yards for Syracuse, while Dontae Strickland added 50 yards. Tommy Devito threw for 105 yards for the Orange, while receivers Taj Harris and Sean Riley had 78 and 15 yards respectively.
Syracuse lost the offensive yardage battle to Notre Dame 463-234 yards in Saturday's game. Notre Dame had more first downs as that total ended up 23-16.
The time of possession battle favored Notre Dame as their offense was on the field for 32:13, longer than the 27:47 of their opponents.
Notre Dame heads into a Week 13 battle against USC. Syracuse, meanwhile, will have their next action against Boston College.
