Steelers Fall 34-9 Against Carolina - Game Recap

The battle between the Panthers and Steelers didn't turn out to be much of a battle at all as Pittsburgh was handed a 34-9 defeat on Friday at Bank of America Stadium.

The Panthers were a -4.5-point favorite in the win, and managed to turn a profit for their supporters. The combined score went OVER the total, which closed at 36.0.

Spencer Brown rushed for 57 yards, while Chuba Hubbard added 35 yards in the win. DJ Moore and Tommy Tremble added 48 and 45 receiving yards respectively.

Benny Snell Jr. rushed for 28 yards for Pittsburgh, while Josh Dobbs added 12 yards. Dwayne Haskins Jr. threw for 108 yards for the Steelers, while receivers Ray-Ray McCloud III and Jaylen Samuels had 61 and 20 yards respectively.

Pittsburgh lost the offensive yardage battle to Carolina 404-221 yards in Friday's game. Carolina had more first downs as that total ended up 25-9.

Carolina led the time of possession tally, as the game finished as a 36:14-23:46 split in that important category.

Carolina heads into a Week 1 battle against the Jets. Pittsburgh, meanwhile, will have their next action against Buffalo.
