Las Vegas - HOLA. We fly down to Mexico tonight where the 49ers hook up with the Cardinals. Before we get to all the injuries, lets talk ALTITUDE! The Estadio Azteca in Mexico City is approximately 7,300 feet high and will be an issue with both teams. The Niners took their road show to the Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs for the week, where the altitude is almost 6,700 feet above sea level. Well done coach Kyle Shanahan. On the other side of the field, Coach Kliff Kingsbury looked at all options to prepare for the game in Mexico City. Double K decided to keep a fairly normal schedule at the Dignity Health Training Center in Tempe. Looked up Tempe, and the altitude is about 1,495 feet above sea level. Advantage 49ers. Now the injuries. Kyler Murray is out, WR DeAndre Hopkins is listed as questionable and TE Zac Ertz is out. Backup QB Colt McCoy tweaked his knee last week, and might not be 100%. That would probably leave third string QB Trace McSorley as the last man standing. If you're not familiar, McSorley was drafted out of Penn State and has thrown exactly 14 passes over the last three years. Chalk up five completions for a staggering total of 38 yards. Are you really frightened now? Not really thrilled about laying a snowman, but it's now up to -10! Looks like Colt McCoy will get the start, with Trace backing him up. Too many IFS so we're gonna take a pass.
