College Football Week 12 Betting Preview

There are a ton of big spreads on the college football betting slate this weekend, including a pair of Top 25 games where the favorite is being spotted more than 35 points.

The largest spread you’ll find in the Top 25 this week is the Illinois Fighting Illini at the No. 8 Ohio State Buckeyes. At Bovada Sportsbook, the Buckeyes are a 41-point favorite. Ohio State has won eight straight versus Illinois with a 6-2 record against the spread. Overall, Illinois has lost eight straight at 2-6 ATS and the Illini are 2-12 SU and 6-8 ATS in their last 14 on the road.

The No. 3 Oklahoma Sooners are massive 37-point road favorites this week against the Kansas Jayhawks. Oklahoma has won 15 straight on the road at 10-5 ATS and against Kansas the Sooners have won their last 12 with an 8-4 ATS record. The Jayhawks have lost nine straight at 3-6 ATS, and as a home underdog they’re 1-14 SU and 7-8 ATS in their last 15.

The lone ranked matchup this week is the No. 19 Michigan Wolverines at the No. 5 Wisconsin Badgers. The Badgers have won 11 in a row at 6-4-1 ATS, and they’re 8-1-1 ATS in their last 10 versus Michigan. The Wolverines are 8-2 SU in their last 10, but only 4-5-1 ATS.

After climbing up to No. 2 on the AP rankings this week, the Miami Hurricanes get what looks to be a cakewalk against the Virginia Cavaliers as a 19-point home favorite. Miami is on a 14-game winning streak with a 10-4 ATS record. Virginia is 2-5 ATS in its last seven road games, but in this matchup the road team is 5-1 ATS in the last six.

The No. 9 Notre Dame Fighting Irish are 18-point home favorites this week against the Navy Midshipmen. The Irish are 7-1 SU and 6-2 ATS in their last eight but have trouble with the AAC, with a 2-7 ATS mark in their last nine versus the conference. Navy is 2-7 SU and 7-2 ATS in its last nine road games against Notre Dame.

The No. 7 Georgia Bulldogs are a 21.5-point home favorite this week versus the Kentucky Wildcats. The Bulldogs have won seven straight against Kentucky at 5-2 ATS, but oddly they’re 1-7 ATS in their last eight Week 12 games. The Wildcats have been a strong play on the road at 4-1 SU in their last five and 6-2 ATS in their last eight.

Finally, in the Pac-12 the No. 12 USC Trojans host the UCLA Bruins as a 16-point favorite. USC has won 15 straight at home with a 9-6 ATS record. The Bruins are on a nine-game losing streak on the road at 2-7 ATS, and in their last nine games at USC they’re 1-8 SU and 2-7 ATS.
