College Football Week 13 Betting Preview

A pair of ranked matchups highlight the Week 13 college football schedule, along with another interesting Big Ten matchup.

We’ll start in the Big 12 where the No. 13 Baylor Bears host the No. 19 Texas Longhorns as a 5.5-point favorite at Bovada Sportsbook.

Baylor is coming off its first loss of the season after falling to the Oklahoma Sooners 34-31 as a 10.5-point underdog. With the win against the spread, the Bears improved to 5-2 ATS in their last seven games. When favored, they have won eight in a row straight up, but they’re only 3-5 ATS.

Texas is also coming off a loss following last week’s 23-21 setback to the Iowa State Cyclones as a 7-point underdog. The Longhorns have lost their last two road games while going 1-1 ATS, and as an underdog they’ve dropped four straight SU at 2-2 ATS.

Last season Texas defeated Baylor 23-17 as a 14-point favorite. Texas has won four straight against Baylor at 3-1 ATS, but in the last nine vs the Bears, the Longhorns are 3-6 ATS.

Buckeyes 8-1 ATS in last 9 as double-digit fave

In the Big Ten on Saturday the No. 2 Ohio State Buckeyes host the No. 4 Penn State Nittany Lions as a 19-point favorite.

The Buckeyes are undefeated this season at 10-0 SU and 8-2 ATS. They’ve won eight straight ATS and when listed as a double-digit favorite, they’ve won 13 straight at 9-4 ATS, which includes an 8-1 ATS mark in their last nine.

Penn State is 9-1 SU this season but only 5-5 ATS. In their last nine road games, the Nittany Lions are 8-1 SU and 6-3 ATS, and when listed as the underdog, they’re 6-1 ATS in their last seven.

Last season Ohio State edged Penn State 27-26 as a 3.5-point road favorite. In their last seven vs the Nittany Lions, the Buckeyes are 6-1 SU and 3-4 ATS, and at home to Penn State they’re 9-2 SU and 8-3 ATS in their last 11.

Wolverines haven’t been good bet on the road

Sticking with the Big Ten, the No. 15 Michigan Wolverines are 9.5-point road favorites this week against the Indiana Hoosiers.

Michigan has won four straight ATS and is 6-1 ATS in the last seven. On the road, the Wolverines have been a bad bet lately at 2-7 ATS in their last nine. As a road favorite, the Wolverines are no better at 1-5 ATS in their last six.

Indiana won ATS in its 34-27 loss to Penn State as a 15-point underdog last week to improve to 6-1 ATS in the last seven. As a home underdog, the Hoosiers have lost 10 straight at 1-8-1 ATS.

Last season Michigan defeated Indiana 31-20 but failed to cover as a 28-point favorite. Overall the Wolverines have won 17 straight against the Hoosiers while going 8-8-1 ATS.
