2020 Masters Betting Odds Preview

The green jacket will be awarded in November for the first time ever this weekend as Augusta National finally gets to host the Masters.

Last year at Augusta, Tiger Woods shocked the golf world by returning to the top of the leaderboard to win his fifth green jacket. The oddsmakers at Bovada Sportsbook don’t expect Woods to get a sixth jacket this year, listing him as a +3300 underdog on their Masters odds. Woods has been extremely inconsistent in his last two tour stops, missing the cut at the U.S. Open and finishing well back tied for 72nd at the Zozo Championship a few weeks ago.

U.S. Open champ DeChambeau the favorite to win Masters

The favorite at Bovada to win the Masters is Bryson DeChambeau at +800. He’s followed by Dustin Johnson at +900 and Jon Rahm at +1000.

DeChambeau posted his first major win earlier this year at the U.S. Open. He finished tied for 29th at the Masters last year, but after adding considerable distance off the tee this season, he could be in a good position at Augusta, which has historically favored long hitters.

Johnson came up just short at Augusta last year when he finished tied for second place behind Woods. That was the best finish of his career in the Masters. Johnson’s game appears to be in top form after he tied for second at the Houston Open last week.

Rahm had a tough time at the Masters last year when he finished well back in 79th place, but the previous year he challenged for the green jacket and placed fourth.

Rounding out the top five on the Masters odds at Bovada are Rory McIlroy at +1200 and Xander Schauffele at +1400.

Masters the only major title still to elude McIlroy

The Masters remains the lone major McIlroy has failed to win in his illustrious career. He’s had his chances with five top-10 finishes, including a pair of top-five finishes, but his 21st-place showing last year was his worst at Augusta since 2013.

Schauffele finished tied for second along with Johnson and Brooks Koepka last year at the Masters and could be a smart value pick at +1400.

The odds for a few other notables this week include Koepka at +1600, Patrick Cantlay at +2800 and two-time Masters champion Bubba Watson at +2800. The odds on a few other former green jacket winners include Patrick Reed at +2800, Jordan Spieth at +6600, Adam Scott at +6600, Phil Mickelson at +10000 and Danny Willett at +20000.
