MLB Betting: Dodgers Continue Set in Philly

Division leaders square off in what could be a future playoff preview Tuesday night as the Los Angeles Dodgers visit the Philadelphia Phillies.

The Dodgers and Phillies began their three-game series on Monday night. Entering the series, the Dodgers were 6-2 in their last eight while the Phillies were 6-1 in their last seven at home. Tuesday’s pitching matchup will be Kenta Maeda (7-5, 3.12) for the Dodgers and Aaron Nola (12-3, 2.30) for the Phillies.

He hasn’t started since July 11 when the picked up a win against the San Diego Padres after allowing one run on four hits with nine strikeouts over 5 2-3 innings. The Dodgers won 4-2 as a -145 favorite at the Bovada Sportsbook.

In his lone start against the Phillies this season in May, Maeda lasted only 1 2-3 innings after allowing two runs on three hits in a 6-1 Dodgers loss.

Nola had a six-game winning streak snapped in his last start. He took the loss after allowing two runs on four hits in six innings against the Miami Marlins. The Phillies lost 2-0 as a -161 favorite. Nola faced the Dodgers in May and limited them to one run on two hits in seven innings in a 2-1 Phillies win as a -158 favorite.

Totals bettors may want to ride the UNDER in this matchup. In Maeda’s last 10 starts the Dodgers are 9-0-1 UNDER, while Nola has delivered four straight UNDER results.

Interleague series between Astros, Rockies

Also on the Tuesday schedule is the opener of an interleague series between the Houston Astros and the Colorado Rockies. The pitching matchup is Gerrit Cole (10-2, 2.52) for Houston and Tyler Anderson for Colorado (6-3, 3.72).

The Rockies head into the series 7-1 in their last eight, but they’ve had trouble with Houston recently. The Astros have won six in a row versus Colorado.
