NBA Finals Game 3: Betting Preview & Trends

The NBA Finals shifts to Cleveland on Wednesday as the Cavaliers hope that home-court advantage will help them get back into the best-of-seven series against the Golden State Warriors.

Golden State has a 2-0 lead in the series after another dominating win in Game 2. The Warriors were a 9-point favorite and easily covered the spread in a 132-113 victory. Kevin Durant and Stephen Curry led the charge again in the rout. Durant scored a game-high 33 points to go along with 13 rebounds and six assists, while Curry added a triple-double with 32 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists.

LeBron James also had a triple-double with 29 points, 11 rebounds and 14 assists for Cleveland in the loss. Kevin Love did his part with 27 points, but Kyrie Irving struggled and scored only 19 points on a dismal 8-of-23 shooting.

If the results so far in the series seem familiar that’s because they’re identical to what happened in last year’s Finals between the Warriors and Cavaliers. Golden State crushed Cleveland in the first two games of the series last year. Cleveland rebounded with a win at home in Game 3 and will need to do the same this year.

If you think Cleveland can come back for the second year in a row you should make a bet on the NBA Finals series odds at the Bovada Sportsbook. Golden State is a massive favorite at -1100, while Cleveland is a +650 underdog.

Cleveland is also a home underdog for Game 3 at the Bovada Sportsbook. The odds for Game 3 have Golden State listed as a 4-point favorite.

The Warriors have yet to lose a game in the playoffs and boast a 14-0 record straight up. They’ve also been strong against the spread at 10-4 ATS. On the road during their postseason run the Warriors are obviously undefeated SU, but they’re also a perfect 6-0 ATS. When you include the regular season the Warriors have won 11 in a row SU and ATS on the road.

After dropping the first two games of the series Cleveland is now 12-3 SU and 7-6-2 ATS in the postseason. That includes a 5-1 record SU and 2-4 mark ATS at home.

During the season Cleveland was listed as a home underdog only twice. In one of those games against the Toronto Raptors Cleveland lost 98-83 as a 4-point underdog, but they were without James, Love and Irving.

The other game is more important to note as it was against Golden State on Christmas Day. Cleveland was a 3.5-point underdog and upset the Warriors 109-108.
