NFL Odds: Week 7

At least it hasn't been a boring NFL season. While some football bettors are probably living out of their cars for the next few months, others, brave enough to dance with the underdogs, are planning on having two Christmases this year.

There were some shocking upsets in Week 6 of the NFL schedule, which should make for interesting numbers this coming Sunday. Here's a look at some of Week 7's odds:

Pittsburgh Steelers at Miami Dolphins (+3)

A thrilling win over the Green Bay Packers at Lambeau Field reinforced the fact that the Dolphins are a solid play on the road (3-0 ATS) and not at home (0-2 ATS). This week's spread may be giving Miami a little too much credit.

The number was originally posted at 2.5 and jumped to a field goal with action on the Steelers. Pittsburgh should continue to improve with Ben Roethlisberger shaking off the rust, adding to a 2-0 road ATS mark.

New England Patriots at San Diego Chargers (-3)

Did oddsmakers just wake up from a two-week coma? How else could they have missed the fact that the Chargers lost two straight games to the likes of Oakland and St. Louis. Not only that, but the Bolts are 3-point home faves against a Patriots team that just knocked off possibly the best team in the NFL.

Sure, you could say books are being careful of the look-ahead spot after the Pats' overtime win against Baltimore. But when you have a coach like Bill Belichick and a quarterback like Tom Brady, those standard handicapping spot plays don't apply. Buy New England before this climbs later in the week.

New York Giants at Dallas Cowboys (-3)

This Monday Night Football spread is another early head-scratcher. Yes, the Cowboys are probably the best 1-4 team in football, but they still haven't proved they can put all that talent to good use. The desperation angle is getting very tired - and desperation soon turns to exasperation. But despite its many flaws, Dallas is the fave and will get that public push to 3.5 and higher.

The Giants, on the other hand, are quickly becoming the best Super Bowl sleeper in the NFL. New York has won three in a row, getting it done on both sides of the ball. The offense is averaging almost 23 points per game while the defense is knocking QB's out like a young Mike Tyson. Tony Romo had better watch his back.

St. Louis at Tampa Bay (-2.5)
