NFL Week 12 Betting Preview and Trends

The Sunday Week 12 schedule is littered with divisional matchups, including a pair from the NFC South where the New Orleans Saints are running away with the division.

This week the Saints are at home to the Carolina Panthers as 10-point favorites at Bovada Sportsbook. New Orleans improved to 7-1 straight up and against the spread in its last eight games by crushing the Tampa Bay Buccaneers 34-17 last week as a 5-point favorite. The Saints haven’t been a great bet as home favorites lately, at 2-6 ATS in their last eight.

Carolina dropped to 1-3 ATS in its last four after getting routed by the Atlanta Falcons 29-3 as a 3.5-point favorite last week. November hasn’t been kind to the Panthers in recent years, as they are 1-5 SU and ATS in their last six games in the month.

The Saints are 4-1 SU and 2-3 ATS in their last five vs Carolina, which includes three straight losses ATS.

Falcons have covered in only 2 of last 9 as chalk

Also in the NFC South, Atlanta hosts Tampa Bay as a 4.5-point favorite. The Falcons have won three in a row ATS, but in their last nine as a favorite they’re 2-7 ATS. Against divisional opponents at home, they’re 5-1 ATS in their last six.

Tampa Bay has lost six straight ATS and is 2-8 ATS on the season following last week’s 34-17 loss to New Orleans as a 5-point underdog. On the road the Buccaneers are a dreadful 2-10 SU and 4-6-2 ATS in their last 12.

Atlanta has won five straight against Tampa Bay while going 3-2 ATS.

Visiting Steelers favored by 7 over winless Bengals

In the AFC North on Sunday, the Pittsburgh Steelers look to continue their dominance of the Cincinnati Bengals as 7-point road favorites.

The Steelers haven’t been great on the road lately at 1-6 SU and 3-4 ATS in their last seven. In their last eight games as a favorite, the Steelers are a money-losing 2-6 ATS.

Cincinnati remains winless at 0-10 SU while going 4-6 ATS. At home the Bengals are 1-9 ATS in their last 10 and as a home underdog they’ve lost four straight SU and ATS.

In Week 4, the Steelers defeated the Bengals 27-3 as a 3.5-point home favorite. Pittsburgh has won nine straight against the Bengals, but it hasn’t translated to profits for bettors as they are 2-6-1 ATS.
