NFL Week 15 Betting Preview and Trends

The NFL moves into Saturday in Week 15 with a pair of games on the schedule starting with the Chicago Bears at the Detroit Lions.

The Lions are 6-point favorites at Bovada Sportsbook as they look to continue their recent dominance over Chicago. In their last nine against the Bears, the Lions are 8-1 straight up, but only 4-4-1 against the spread. The Bears have stumbled to a 1-5 record SU and 2-3-1 ATS mark in their last six games, and on the road they’re 2-12 SU and 5-9 ATS in their last 14.

The other Saturday matchup has the Los Angeles Chargers at the Kansas City Chiefs as a 1.5-point road favorite. The Chargers have won four straight at 3-1 ATS and they’re 4-1 ATS in their last five road games. The Chiefs are a lowly 2-6 ATS in their last eight games, but against the Chargers they’ve won seven straight with a 5-2 record ATS.

On Sunday the Eagles move forward without Carson Wentz when they face the New York Giants as a 7.5-point road favorite. Philadelphia is 6-1 SU and 5-2 ATS in the last seven versus the Giants and 14-5 ATS in the last 19 games against them. New York is a dismal 1-6 SU and 2-5 ATS in the last seven, and at home the Giants are 1-5 SU and ATS in their last six.

While Philadelphia has lost Wentz, the Green Bay Packers welcome back Aaron Rodgers this week when they face the Carolina Panthers as a 3-point road underdog. Despite playing without Rodgers, the Packers were 4-1 ATS in their last five games. They’re a profitable 10-2 ATS in their last 12 games in December overall. Carolina has won three straight at home both SU and ATS, and versus the Packers is 3-1 ATS in the last four.

The top two teams in the AFC square off in what could be a playoff preview on Sunday when the Pittsburgh Steelers host the New England Patriots as a 3-point underdog. The Steelers have won eight straight with a 4-4 record ATS, and at home they’re 9-1 SU and 5-4-1 ATS in their last 10. New England had its 13-game road winning streak snapped last week, but against Pittsburgh is 11-3 SU and 10-3-1 ATS in their last 14 matchups.

This week’s Monday nighter is an NFC South matchup between the Atlanta Falcons and Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
