NFL Week 4 Betting Preview and Trends

Two more double-digit spreads highlight NFL Sunday in Week 4, starting with another giant spread against the Miami Dolphins.

The Dolphins host the Los Angeles Chargers as a 16-point underdog at Bovada Sportsbook. Last week, Miami lost its sixth straight both straight up and against the spread, falling to the Dallas Cowboys 31-6 as a 22-point underdog. In their three losses this season, the Dolphins have been outscored 133-16.

The Chargers are coming off a 27-20 upset loss to the Houston Texans as a 3-point favorite to fall to 1-2 SU and 0-2-1 ATS. Los Angeles has now lost back-to-back games as a favorite, but as a road favorite the Chargers are still 7-2 SU and 6-3 ATS in their last nine. As a double-digit favorite, they have won 11 straight at 5-6 ATS.

The Dolphins have dominated this matchup at home, having won eight straight against the Chargers in Miami, while going 5-2 ATS (one game had no odds).

Rams 6-1 ATS in last 7 as double-digit favorite

The other double-digit spread belongs to the Los Angeles Rams, who are 10-point favorites vs the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

The Rams are 3-0 SU and ATS on the season after topping the Cleveland Browns 20-13 as 4-point favorites last week. Los Angeles is 6-1 ATS in its last seven as a double-digit favorite. Against the Buccaneers, the Rams have won five in a row SU and six straight ATS.

Last week Tampa Bay was upset by the New York Giants 32-31 as a 5-point favorite. On the road, the Buccaneers are 1-7 SU and 3-3-2 ATS in their last eight, and as a double-digit underdog they’re 1-10 SU and 6-5 ATS in their last 11.

Dallas has won 7 of last 8 as road fave

Turning back to road favorites, a pair of standouts this week include the Dallas Cowboys and Kansas City Chiefs.

The Cowboys are 3-point road favorites vs the New Orleans Saints. Dallas has been money as a road favorite at 7-1 SU and 6-1-1 ATS in its last eight. However, the Cowboys are 1-5 SU in their last six games in New Orleans, and 1-7 ATS in their last eight.

The Saints snapped a seven-game ATS losing streak last week with a 33-27 upset win over the Seattle Seahawks as 5-point underdogs. As a home underdog, the Saints are 5-1 ATS in their last six.

Chiefs giving up 7 points vs unbeaten Lions

The Chiefs are 7-point road favorites vs the Detroit Lions. Kansas City is 5-1 SU and ATS in its last six after defeating the Baltimore Ravens 33-28 as a 4.5-point favorite last week. As road favorites, the Chiefs are 5-1 SU and 4-2 ATS in their last six.

The Lions are 2-0-1 SU and 2-1 ATS following last week’s 27-24 win over the Philadelphia Eagles as 4-point underdogs. The Lions are 1-6 ATS in their last seven games vs the Chiefs.
