NFL Week 6 Betting Preview and Trends

The Green Bay Packers are road favorites for the first time this season in Week 6, as they take on the Minnesota Vikings.

At Bovada Sportsbook, the Packers are a 3.5-point road favorite, and in their last seven as road chalk they’re 5-2 straight up and 4-3 against the spread. The Packers are 11-3-1 SU in their last 15 versus Minnesota but only 9-6 ATS. The Vikings are a profitable 6-1 ATS in their last seven home games against teams with winning records.

Also favored on the road this week, the New England Patriots are 10-point chalk versus the New York Jets. The Patriots have won 10 straight on the road at 9-1 ATS and against the Jets they’re 10-2 SU and 4-7-1 ATS in their last 12. The Jets have won three straight SU and ATS and as a home underdog they’re 4-1 ATS in their last five.

Continuing on the road favorites storyline, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers are 2-point road favorites this week at the Arizona Cardinals. The Buccaneers are hurting bettors right now at 1-5 ATS in their last six, and they’re 1-6 ATS in their last seven as a road favorite. The Cardinals have lost five in a row ATS overall but as a home underdog they’re 5-2 ATS in their last seven.

With Derek Carr’s status still undetermined, the Los Angeles Chargers at Oakland Raiders game remains off the board early in the week. Even with a win last week, the Chargers are 1-9 SU and 1-8-1 ATS in their last 10. The Raiders have lost three straight both SU and ATS, but they’ve won their last four versus the Chargers at 2-2 ATS.

On Sunday night, the winless New York Giants are a 12-point underdog when they visit the Denver Broncos. New York has dropped six straight SU while going 2-4 ATS. The Giants are also 1-6 ATS in their last seven road games. Denver is coming off its bye week and has won four straight at home with a 3-0-1 ATS mark. The Broncos are 4-2 SU and 5-1 ATS in their last six versus the Giants.

Closing out the week, on Monday night the Indianapolis Colts visit the Tennessee Titans. Indianapolis has owned this matchup with an 11-game winning streak against the Titans while going 10-1 ATS. The Titans are 5-1 SU and ATS in their last six home games, but oddly they’re 2-11-1 ATS in their last 14 home games against teams with losing records.
