Sports Betting Week: Another OKC Upset?

After shocking the basketball world with a blowout win in Game 3 the Oklahoma City Thunder will look to take a stranglehold on the Western Conference Finals on Tuesday when they host the Golden State Warriors.

The Thunder were a 2.5-point home underdog in Game 3, but ended up throttling the Warriors 133-105. Kevin Durant led the way with 33 points for the Thunder and Russell Westbrook added 30 points and 12 assists. If the Thunder can pick up a win on Tuesday they would be looking at a series clincher on Thursday.

In the Eastern Conference Finals the Cleveland Cavaliers host the Toronto Raptors in Game 5 on Wednesday. Toronto picked up a 99-84 win in Game 3 as a 6-point home underdog to cut the series deficit to 2-1. Even with that win Toronto was still a massive +1600 underdog to win the series at online sportsbook Bovada heading into Game 4 on Monday night.

In the NHL playoffs the Tampa Bay Lightning can book their second consecutive trip to the Stanley Cup Final with a win in Game 6 of the Eastern Conference Final. The Lightning defeated the Pittsburgh Penguins 4-3 in overtime in Game 5 as a +170 underdog. Tampa Bay is now a -180 series favorite at Bovada, while the Penguins are a +160 underdog.

In the Western Conference Final the series is tied 2-2 after the St. Louis Blues won Game 4 by a score of 6-3. At Bovada the oddsmakers have tabbed the Blues as a small series favorite at -130. Game 5 is Monday night followed by Game 6 on Wednesday.

The MLB schedule this week includes a National League East showdown between the New York Mets and Washington Nationals. Only a game separates the Mets and Nationals atop the division right now. The Nationals took two of three from the Mets earlier this season, but in Washington the Mets have won three straight and four of their last five. New York is also 8-4 in their last 12 games against Washington overall.

This week’s PGA Tour stop is the Dean and Delucha Invitational. Last year Chris Kirk won this tournament, but he’s a +2800 underdog to win again at Bovada. The favorite is Jordan Spieth at +650, followed by Adam Scott at +1200 and Matt Kuchar at +1400. Zach Johnson, a two-time winner of this event, is an interesting choice for bettors at +2500.
